$6 average looms as diesel benchmark hits record
Another key benchmark of retail diesel prices has set an all-time record, with few signs that the upward trend will end anytime soon. That historic high came on a day when the diesel futures market was climbing yet again after a few days of declines late last week. The weekly Department of Energy/Energy Information Administration average retail diesel price rose 36. 8 cents/gallon to $5. 967/g, published Wednesday but effective Monday.
