Born in regional Queensland in 1941 or 1943 - depending on who you ask - Alan Jones started his career as a school teacher. He ran for politics, and coached Australia's national rugby union team before becoming one of Australia’s highest-paid, most successful talkback radio presenters. 'You can't overestimate how important Alan Jones was for more than 30 years,' says Guardian Australia's Amanda Meade. Now the veteran broadcaster has pleaded not guilty to 20 charges of indecent assault and two of sexual touching allegedly committed against six men between 2003 and 2020. His four-month trial begins in Sydney on Monday 3 August
