Long Beach port president pledge to advance Port of the Future Vision

Steven Neal has assumed the presidency of the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners, launching his one-year term with a commitment to advancing the Port of Long Beach’s infrastructure, sustainability and innovation initiatives as it builds toward its Port of the Future vision. At his first meeting as Board President, Neal pledged to work with fellow commissioners to ensure progress on the projects and programmes that have established Long Beach as a global leader in goods movement, customer service and environmental performance. Central to the port’s long-term direction is a mission launched this year to double annual container volumes to 20 million TEUs by 2050 while simultaneously achieving 100% zero-emissions port operations. The port is supported by US$ 3. 3 billion in planned capital investments over the next decade and the development of digital systems to enhance efficiency and cargo visibility across the supply chain.
